'uPod' was a group project developed as a design intervention for the wicked problem of waste. The idea was to create a multi-functional vehicle that will give the user the diversity of owning four cars. By eliminating the need for multiple vehicles, the envisioned modular car will ease the user’s stress that comes with owning more possessions. Additionally, the product will eliminate the extensive use of materials in traditional car manufacturing, making it a more sustainable product life-cycle. This will be achieved by creating an upgradable base on top of which car's skin will be grown with the help of synthetic biology.
