Seen & Unseen (Still)
In an endeavour to avoid the trivialisation of begging, Amanda acknowledges that there are millions of people who are forced into begging on account of disability, lack of education, religion, family traditions or bad decisions. This project alternatively addresses the community of beggars who prey on generous foreigners and unknowing locals, exploring the frustrations these people experience. 'Seen and Unseen' attempts to capture the reality of what was seen and hidden to Amanda while visiting Mumbai when growing up, in order to connect real and false memories focusing on organised begging as one of the most visible forms of human trafficking.
