Wind Up Flow Chair
Timothy Geldard's work has focused on the metanarrative of human development from farming to cubicle work. These works explore the relationship between domestic scenarios and offices through the paradigm of flow and how ultimate workflow and temporal hypo-frontality may be achieved through a new front of home office furniture and interaction. 'Wind Up Flow Chair' is designed as a challenge, aiming to elevate the user's flow state closer to true hypo-frontality, where a person becomes one with a current task. Wool is threaded through the metal back brace , and the person becomes immersed in the meditative experience of wool spinning their own backrest, stopping or starting whenever they decide the chair is woolly enough.
