Graduate Exhibition

In 2015, the Australian government released the ‘Threatened Species Strategy’, an action-based initiative outlining thirty plant species that they pledged to protect and recover by 2020. This artwork, intended for outdoor display, plays with ideas of life and death, presence and absence, distorting the common association of leaving flowers at gravesites. This work similarly plays with memorialisation rituals, personifying the threatened flora species through individual headstones.
