Graduate Exhibition

The constant revealing of the self is performed through movement. To move is to communicate the universal language of the unspoken word. 'Adagio' reflects the graceful and fluid movements of contemporary dance, echoed by the contrast of light and shade within movement. To be at ease, calm and controlled movement begins from within and exudes out, projecting from self to audience. 'Adagio' conceptually encapsulates the dynamic expression of movement through a collection of four unique rug designs created for the dance studios of Sydney Dance Company. The form, expression of line, and lucid, curved shapes echo the human body moving through time and space creating a path of choreographed expression. The presented designs were chosen and produced as a tufted rug by Designer Rugs and exhibited at the AD Space Gallery, UNSW Art & Design.
