Graduate Exhibition

'Endlings' is an exploration into the declining Australian environment since European settlement which has contributed greatly to the increasing number of threatened native flora. This work proposes to educate and raise awareness of critically endangered plant species that have severely diminished due to destructive land clearing activities. These jewellery objects exist within an installation space that reflects on the loss and future projection of extinction through the representation of plant endlings. Fragmented and separated from their environmental context, the species are rezoned as they enter into museum vitrines as specimens.
