Second Skin
Monique Parker uses speculative design as a medium to stimulate a discussion between designers and the public about the moral implications society may have towards inanimate objects if they were to 'grow with us' over their lifespan. This project uses skin to represent the different life stages of the phone, from the 'birth' of the phone until its death. By using skin, Monique hopes to create a sense of affinity due to human likeness and connect the consumer and the product in a long-term relationship.
