Harry White-Smith’s practice uses a combination of figurative collage and text-based paintings to explore the unrealistic and artificial representations of love in 21st century film, and what it means to be in a relationship as defined by these films. His practice, which began as a representation of love and loneliness using characters of film, has become a study on the way love is represented in film through a variety of cinematic conventions, archetypes and quotes.
