Bailee Lobb’s practice engages with forms and materials that spatially perform dissociative experience. The transience of differential embodiment is central to her research as are explorations of separation, sensory inhibition, and the encounter. The reflective and transparent materiality of her forms create a space where the boundary between the viewer and the work is blurred – distorted images of their body move across reflective surfaces as they encounter the work temporarily positioning the viewer as part of the form.
