A Small Tweak
'A Small Tweak' is an exploration into the inaccuracies of memory. Memories are continually transforming as they become distorted with time and accumulate in number. Each time a memory is revisited, aspects such as mood, external influences and moral compass can affect the accuracy of this memory. However, most memories do retain a particular element that remains certain throughout the memory's lifetime. Anna Linda Collins explores how digitally recreating images reflects the nature of memory recall, visually demonstrating how memory attempts to fill in the gaps of reality through exaggeration or alteration. Within this series, Anna has chosen to explore particular memories where focus points remain consistent with each recall. Through the use of digital manipulation, Anna interrogates the assumed accuracy of the photograph and its relationship with memory. Anna's constructed scenes blur the boundaries between the real and the digital, truth and fiction, and authenticity and manipulation.
