In the not-so-distant future, bio-metrics will become the norm for identity verification, giving access to all sorts of personal and private data. This 'anxious being' tries to protect itself by morphing into a wire-frame and growing multiple heads to fool facial recognition technology. Alas, it cannot remember which of its faces it has used to secure its mobile device. This work raises questions about the ownership of bio-metric data, our rights to privacy and the ethics (or lack thereof) of technology giants in selling covert data collection devices to an unsuspecting majority.
This work is part of the series 'Anxious Beings' which proposes a biological evolution of humanity that employs transparency and fragmentation as forms of visual camouflage, in response to fears arising from the hidden onslaught of data tracking and mass surveillance.
