Square Flowers
Moon Hee Kim’s new series 'Square Flowers' emerges from her daily experiences and interactions with nature plants. Through this work, Moon Hee aims to encapsulate the beauty and uniqueness of the nature plants surrounding us, which she believes society has become desensitised to. Moon Hee highlights the fragility of the environment and the importance of conservation, while reflecting upon her own personal memories and relationships with nature. Moon Hee utilises nature plants and mixed media in her work to visually transform her ideas for the audience, encouraging viewers to build their own personal experiences with the environment. Moon Hee Kim is a Sydney-based artist, completing her Master of Art at UNSW Art & Design. She is mainly interested in film-based photography; however, her practice also explores installation, screen print and video art. Moon Hee has been a winner and finalist in numerous national art awards and prizes.
