'Remembering Matters' is a series of paintings based on Ming Ouyang's childhood memories. In these paintings, Ming depicts her childhood toy which acts as a trigger, evoking her lonely experiences as an only child in accordance with China's one-child policy that has now been phased out. Through abstract mark-making, Ming metaphorically expresses the fragmentary and sporadic nature of her recollections in evoking memories of the past.
