Graduate Exhibition

kata komlós is a Sydney-based artist working and studying in the fields of printmaking, film photography and painting/drawing. Her works aim to explore and manipulate the rules of each medium, creating new images from methods that are often destructive and impatient. The past few years of kata's practice have revolved around extensive experimentation with expired 35mm slide film and abstract or 'cameraless' photography. These works question what constitutes a photographic image, departing from representational and documentary functions to challenge conventional understandings of photography as a medium.
