The Aesthetics of Desire
'The Aesthetics of Desire' explores the economic role of the 'social influencer' in an increasingly capitalised society which prioritises a love of possessions over human connection and meaning. Representing fears of isolation, claustrophobia and the desaturation of personality and emotion, Jesca Bard's work questions the true meaning of the social influencer: Are they a provider of inspirational lifestyles, or purveyor of unattainable sins?
