GO BACK TO THE SHOPS?
Harry He's project ‘GO BACK TO THE SHOPS?’ seeks to engage with an appreciation of 21st century comedy, as well as explore how material culture is intensively embedded into human civilisation. Based on the notion of a ‘Modern Day Materiality’, throughout this project Harry considers how materialism becomes a state of mind and an extension of oneself, yet individuals often attempt to disguise this perception of humanity. In this work, Harry uses the translucency of glass as a metaphor, contrasting with the obscure materiality we try to hide. In the illusion of this glass ‘water puddle’, the fictitious fluidity reflects the ultimate sarcasm of the delicate reality of society.
