Graduate Exhibition

'Wanderings' is a series of explorations inspired by Alice Furber's interest in walking as practice. Using the site of the unremarkable urban/suburban street and painting as performative action, 'Wanderings' highlights the ignored and undiscovered beauty of everyday common space and the Alice's personal psychogeographical journey within it. Walking is used as a tool for contemplation and exploration invoking both energy and stillness. The activation of banal, often ignored sites, challenges notions of public art as formal and planned and instead invites surprise and curiosity from the public.
